ID Please

I have these two plants that both appear to crawl or climb. I don’t have the space to let them crawl and nowhere to hang them near a light source, so up they go. Problem is, I don’t know what they are and I can’t tell them apart. One was in water and the other in 50/50 soil/perlite. I would like to put them in pumice semi-hydro with a tree fern fiber pole. Would this be an appropriate option for either or both plants?

A favorite 'long petiole' Alocasia

Here is an Alocasia 'red imperial' that seems to like me, lol. I picked it up a few months ago and its one of my favorite today.

I keep like 12-15 species of alocasia and 4 or 5 i call my 'tall' alocasia. Those include red imperial, zebrini, hilo beauty, longiloba and sometimes Polly types. This one just thrives, while others tall ones struggle.

I know extreme variegation jewel alocasia are all the rage right now. But look how lovely!! The reliable, rich green of the leaves contrasts so nicely with the long slender smooth red-pink petioles, I feel variagation would be a distraction from it's simple elegance.

I have struggled a bit with the taller ones. Since I live in a winter desert, the indoor ambient humidity going below 15% for a couple months a year. I have to use grow tents and my Ikea cabinets as 'humidity hospitals' in January. Otherwise the tall ones live where I can look at them.

This baby has been so happy here! I cant bring myself to repot it because its so happy. Its one of the few living in straight cococoir, most are in my superchunk mix, adjusted with coir for moisture retention. I just got a longiloba in cococoir too and its happy. I may rethink the medium i use, chunky and leca dont seem to keep them as happy as cococoir.......but i'm afraid of rot!

My hilo and zebrini struggle along and wont look good anywhere! In a tent, cabinet, or ambient, they just limp along with 1-3 ugly leaves. I need to learn why.

Anyway, hope you like the photos. I have 'cooler' alocasia, but not more loved!

Oh lawd I did some things

I just bought 3 plants from Etsy and debating very hard on a 4th that idk if I should get. What did I just do 🤦‍♀️

The first 3 are obvious and what I have bought. The 4th is the one I'm having an internal battle with myself over whether or not I should get it

Experience with recent imports from Aroidasia?

Hi!

I've been seeing a lot of websites that sell plants from Thailand and they import them to the US and then send it to your address.

One of them is Aroidasia, Aroidmarket, etc.

I already looked for opinions and reviews here in Reddit but most experiences are from 4 years ago.

Can anyone share their experience if they've imported plants from them this year (2026) or the past (2025)?

Do you have any other recommendations? I'm looking for more exotic hoyas so that's why I'm considering ordering from these websites.

Thank you!

Huge Plant Restocking Coming to the Website Tomorrow

My name is Gabrielle and I own Bite and Bloom Botanicals, a small nursery in Beaverton, Oregon specializing in carnivorous plants and other exotic houseplants such as begonias, philodendron, alocasia and monstera. We have our big restock of tissue culture plants once a month tomorrow is the day!

I’ve also restocked the shop with many already in pots plants and added a new clearance section, customer loyalty program, and an affiliate program for people to earn commissions by sending sales our way!

Would love for anybody to take a look at my site and give me some honest feedback on it- how easy is it to navigate and visually appealing is it?

Thank you in advance!

New leaves 🍃

This has become my favorite plant. Rojo Congo❤️ I keep this in a NE exposure to keep it happy - it doesn’t like to sit too close to the window or fond of grow lights. Idk if this is normal?! I received this in October as a starter plant (it was tiny)☺️
