Hey there!
I have a question because my action cards were effected by another player's poison effect.
My cards:
Expert on Australia
Brahminy Kite
I had one poison left on association 2, but used animals on 5 to play the kite for 12 money while at 13 money. This should have triggered both expert on australia and the kite's ability hunting 2.
Boardgamearena denied both abilities due to the poison.
I was not aware poison could deny animal abilities if playing said animal would drop you to 0 money due to poison.
Had to redo the entire turn and essentially spend 2 turns just removing poison.
I know why my group uses peaceful mode..

I almost exclusively grab the second worker that is on(almost?) all maps, but I can see where a snap or a two enclosure if available could be really beneficial, especially if you have a handful of smaller animals.

So I got invited to play this game. I watched a yt vid that explained the rules and played 1 game. Obviously I got beaten easily. Now i would love to hear some tips on how to get good and beat my friend the next time we play, or atleast be a bigger threat :)
Given that it is mechanically established that some animals can have multiple Continent tags of the same type (African Bush Elephant, American Bison, Dugong, etc) and that animals can have multiple different animal tags (turtles, sharks, African Penguin, any of the bears), why is it that we have seen no animals with two different continent icons?
The most blatant animal that deserves a second continent icon, in my opinion, would be the Moose. I think it is criminal that the Moose, one of the most iconic animals of Canada, is presented with only a Europe icon. Not to mention that Moose typically aren't even called "Moose" in Europe! I actually didn't even realize that Moose existed outside of North America before this game.
Obviously, there isn't going to be any change or errata issued, but hypothetically, if you were in the shoes of the developers, what would you think about the idea of animals with two different continent icons? Do you think that the game would be unbalanced with these dual-continent (or tri-continent) animals? How would extra continent icons belonging to different continents need to be factored in to the cost of an animal?

I am stuck in gold 10 and keep on getting matched against players with ratings around ~500 while I am 280.
I lost 4 matches in a row, the last one in 28 turns. That's just beyond my level and honestly not that fun.
Is there any setting that allows me to play against players around my elo (~300) or should I just abandon arena for the next months?
