Geneva to Annecy on a Sunday?

Hello! I will be traveling from Geneva Airport to Annecy in June. I arrive on a Sunday, and I'm finding it difficult to find a train running online to book in advance.
I'm wondering if they have limited times on Sundays, or if I'm just not looking in the right places. I have been looking on trainline.
I know the 272 bus also travels that route, but I can't find a way to book online, and the date I'm going coincides with a festival, so I'm apprehensive that there won't be space on a bus if I just buy the ticket in person on the date.

Any advice is appreciated!

Best places to eat in Annecy

I’m heading to Annecy soon and looking for recommendations for genuinely good restaurants/cafés — not super fancy or Michelin-star places, just spots with really solid food and a good atmosphere.

Help me find this location

I'm trying to find this exact spot to recreate a photo of my mother. This would have been taken around the early 90s. Does anybody know where this is?

Hi! My gf and I are heading to Annecy/Megeve area this summer for a quick trip. Our priorities are nature and food, ie just chilling, taking in the sights, walking around town and exploring, and open to an occasional easy to moderate hike but not necessarily there to hike or for any particular physical activity. A nice relaxing boutique hotel would be great too. Especially curious given our itinerary if you think we'll need a car, or maybe just partially? Flying into Geneva from London on 7/5 and landing in the morning, then plan to head to Annecy from Geneva that same day.

ANNECY: 7/5 - 7/8

MEGEVE: 7/8 - 7/10

GENEVA: 7/10

Have a few questions off of this:

  1. I know Geneva to Annecy is easy by train but if we needed to rent a car would it just be easier to get the car in Geneva and return it in Geneva? Rather than renting in Annecy or Megeve?
  2. Would it be useful to have a car at any point, like to drive between Annecy and Megeve, or within either of the two cities, etc? Or does it ultimately depend how close to the city center you're staying / if you plan to leave the city?
  3. On that note, should we be leaving the city(ies) for anything in particular? E.g. Is a day trip to Chamonix worth trying to include? Just don't want to jam in too many things as it's not a very long time.
  4. Any fav hotels or general recs based on above, if you happen to have.

Thank you all!

Re: Paragliding in Annecy

Hi everyone, Can anyone tell me if the transportation system from the landing field in Doussard back up to the takeoff at Col de la Forclaz (Montmin)? I visited in 2024 and there were Vans that took visiting pilots up, but when I went back last year they told me that those vans were not operating because of some problem. Has this situation been resolved?

Thanks for any information you can provide
