Cameron The Capitol Cat / Nebraska’s Most Famous Rescue Cat

Cameron was rescued from the Lincoln Nebraska Capitol Humane Society and has became the most recognized feline in the state. I never expected I would write a book about him when I first started photographing him, but he has touched so many peoples lives in deep and profound ways I had no idea about the to know him and his caregiver “roommate”.

Question for people helping animals — what is the hardest part right now?

Hi everyone,

For some time now, I’ve been following people who help animals and people in need, and honestly — what you do really made me think.

I see how often the people who are actually helping are the ones who struggle the most — constantly trying to find support just to keep going.

That’s why I’ve started working on an idea (still very early stage) — to create a way for support to be sustainable, not just one-time help.

The idea is simple:
to build something that allows people to help consistently, not only when there’s an emergency.

I’m still figuring things out and trying to better understand the real needs.

If there are people here who are actively helping — I’d really like to ask:
👉 what is the hardest part for you right now?

Thank you for what you do.
