I was on the production side! Would love any feedback and can answer any Q's on our process as well!
I'm watching Red Tide again and I'm enthralled by the color palette, scenery and and presence of a cold and hostile ocean. But what if instead of pseudo-vampires, we got Lovecraftian horrors? Could we not get a season about an unknowable and ancient evil tormenting a bleak, dying small town in the NE US?
New fan here! I used to hear about AHS but didn't pay much attention to it. I'm trying to catch up before Season 13, I've been watching on and off since August. The scene with Bobby hugging his father saying goodbye to his family is what got me. The song The Living Years by Mike + The Mechanics made me cry🥺 It's amazing how the cast can switch characters every season. They are very talented especially Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson.
Do the seasons get better or worse? So far the first episode of Double Feature is good.
If it all, when did you feel like AHS had changed and wasn’t as good anymore.
For me it was season 6 onward, despite enjoying season 8 & 9, it just went downhill from there for me.
First watch I couldnt stand it. Now its been a few years and rewatching Im kind of getting into it, like a lot! THOUGHTS??
Anyway if AHS gets renewed for a 14th season I really hoping they do they a season involving the crew and guests of shipwrecked resort cruise that end up on a mysterious and sinister island. The island itself would be the main setting, but with flashbacks to the crew and guests on the cruise as well as before they go on the cruise.
The crew and guests would fight to survive, creating factions amongst their people, all the while they are being watched and some are eventually killed by fish like human mutants; basically mermaids. On the island there would be a mansion that was once owned by a rich tycoon who used the island for his escapades, experimentation, and obsession with mermaids. He would basically be the AHS version of Jeffrey Epstein, but more evil.
The mythology around the mermaid like creatures would be the tycoon discovered a real mermaid, but was terrified by it looking grotesque. So he hired various scientists that discovered they could genetically splice human and mermaid DNA to create a perfect creature. The first to go through the experiment would be a famous actress who was invited by the tycoon to his island. He also invited various other famous people, a reference to Jeffrey Epstein. The actress is drugged and forcefully goes through the experiment becoming a mermaid, killing most of the guest, but transforming other guest into mermaids like her. It would be revealed that the mermaid and human DNA created a virus that if a human is bitten or scratched by a mermaid they will become one.
The inspirations for the season would be Lost, Lord of the Flies, Yellowjackets, Jaws, Creature of the Black Lagoon. As well as real history or myths including Atlantis, The Bermuda Triangle, Virginia Dare, Christopher Columbus, etc.
Would include the 3 women from Red tide and beverly hope, but i’d consider them too villainous to be “final girls”
Holy shit, years ago I had heard from a friend this was the worst season, and I’ve concluded to never listen to them again. I loved the format, the experimentation, the meta-ness of it all. After the extravagance of Hotel, it was nice to go back to a more smaller scale, straight forward horror story.
AHS- online
Basically it features a group of different characters living in different parts of the USA who are connected via an online forum/message board. Something like a true crime/urban legend/conspiracy theory site. Each character has a reason to visit the site as we delve into their back stories they start individual investigations into whatever their stories are, whilst being supported by anonymous strangers online. Something along the lines of different people realising they have a shared experience and try to work out what they saw.
For anyone who wass a fan of CreepyPasta think along the lines of Candlecove or 1999
The last few episodes could feature some characters coming together in real life and meeting in person.
Or either Ryan will see this and make it happen lol!
But since they pretty much already revealed that Addie, Constance, James March, Piggy Man, and the witches are coming back, I think it’s possible they could bring back Ally and the SCUM cult too.
I don’t know how this would work to fit ALL of that into one story, but maybe this season could be about parallel universes and the butterfly effects that Mallory unintentionally caused from time traveling. Meaning that many characters from seasons like Cult, Hotel, and Roanoke could be alive who are supposed to actually be dead.
If Kai is supposed to be in S13 too, it could be because the time traveling causes him to be alive in the new timeline, or either the season will feature Hell/Purgatory and we will get to see dead characters again. I don’t know, this is all just speculation. Kai or any characters from Cult HAVEN’T been confirmed to return yet.
Seeing people suggesting a time travel/butterfly effect Theme for the new season, I think that could work and explain all those different characters lol. Mallory altered Anastasia's death, reverted Constance and Queenie's deaths, and practically changed a good part of the Hotel season as well, lol. Maybe the Tempus Infinitum spell will have a consequence and we'll see that soon.
I’ve heard thousands of accounts, but there’s always that one story—the kind that makes you double-check the locks and keep the lights on. I'm looking for the absolute peak of horror. Not just a jump scare, but something that genuinely haunts your thoughts days later.
What is the most terrifying thing you’ve ever been told (or experienced) that felt too real to ignore?
What if we had a "This Thing of Ours" Season that intertwined the 1930s stereotype of the mob/mafia and the conspiracy or not so conspiracy theories of the government.
