I just welcomed a new 7 week old baby Quaker into my family on Sunday. The baby is settling in really good. Petrie is my eight month old Quaker female parrot. And she seems to enjoy the baby already. I still haven’t introduced them except like they are right now. But I’m happy that Petrie is interested in the baby.

I definitely have to keep a close eye on Petrie with no tail or wing feathers because she still can’t fly. I’m sure bet if she knew she couldn’t fly when she pulled them out she would not have done it. I feel so bad for her. She seems really curious in Popeye, but I think she’s a little jealous too. I’ve only introduced them like you see in the video. I am still gonna wait a while to introduce them completely.
Popeye is officially eight weeks old today. He is enjoying time out of the cage. He is so curious about everything. I am so happy I got him or her. lol
Kirby insisted on grooming me while standing on my glasses. I thought it was such a silly picture 😅
It’s your Hatch Day Happy Hatch Day. !!!
She’s counting one for each foot lift. LOL.
It’s nap time for my two babies. Petrie and Popeye. I love them so much.
I have a question cause I have never winged one. Popeye is eating pellets, chop and drinking water regularly and not really interested in formula the last couple of days. Do I keep feeding him formula?
Petrie and Popeye are both out today together but still at a distance. They seem to not be bothered by one another.
Advice
My baby WF Amazon is a joy to have. He came to me at that 6 weeks old. Exactly one week after having him he had snot coming out of his nose, I immediately took him to the emergency vet at midnight. They put him on antibiotics. I made a follow up appointment with his avian vet. Who extended his antibiotics and told me a blood test wasn’t necessary because he was improving. But I still insisted on a culture at the very least, his vet told me the only bacteria found was ecoli. She said this could be nothing or the cause. He definitely made tremendous improvement, he was a whole new bird. He flew for the first time after being on his medicine for 3 days. He played. He yelled. He jumped. I’ve been delighted. He hasn’t stopped eating, his food intake has increased. We finished his meds. However, two days after his medicine is done, I heard him sneeze twice and I made an appointment for him as soon as I heard it. Right now I went to check on him and I seen full snot coming down his nose. This time it isn’t bubbly. It’s clear. I’m just so worried about him. Has anyone else experienced this? I just want to point his vet in some sort of direction. I don’t want him having any kind of health issues. I feel absolutely terrible 😢 please advise, a desperate bird mom😢
Some out of context but cute photos of Bandit
My personal favorites are the ones where she has yam and veggie crumbs on her beak lol.
