My son’s car is getting 15.7MPG AVG and wondering why. For context he is a high school senior and only drives from home to high school on local roads. Also, he also just recently in the last few months started using regular unleaded because of the gas prices and said he doesn’t need the performance.

Could it just be that it is only local driving and the 87 octane that is bringing the mileage from the 20’s to 15 or could there be another underlying issue.

Hi all - longtime lurker and a first time poster, love this subreddit. I went to my dealer today who quoted me the following for brake work on my 2019 Acura TLX SH-AWD:

Front pads and machine rotors: $465.07
Rear pads and machine rotors: $539.59
Brake flush: $215.49
Total: $1,220.15

I just want to see if this quote is in line with your expectations or experience. Is this a fair price? I figure I'm paying a premium for going with an Acura dealer, but how much more? I've got just over 67,000 miles on it as of today.

I appreciate any advice in advance!

Q about inner tire wear and battery

Hi guys

I'm interested in buying a used 2025 model. I was curious if people had any experience with

  1. the inner tire wearing out faster regardless of alignment and balancing tires. This was a common issue when researching about lexus rc or is350s and I picked Acura to avoid this issues.

  2. Is there a parasitic drain problem with these cars? I noticed the previous owner had to bring his new car into the dealer almost every month since purchasing and it seemed to be to investigate the battery dying as he had it replaced and the charging system investigated.

Would value your opinion as I'm debating which car to buy.

I live in Northern Ontario to be specific where winter is 6 months long and we get a crazy amount of snow and the roads can get icy. I survived last few winters just driving around a tiny fwd car but it had 6" ground clearance and it made it through ok.

I feel confident about the sh awd but I'm worried about the ground clearance with all the snow. I do live in the city but some mornings it can be messy in the residential streets for sure. I'll of course be getting the best winter tires on rims for them if I buy the car.

Just wanted to get people's ownership experience.

Have a 2015 TLX 3.5 9 speed trans and this code popped up. 146k with trans fluid never changed. After changing fluid and driving for 330 miles light never came back on. I have had the occasional rough shift between gear 2&3.
Anything to be concerned about?

Hey y'all, I have a 2017 SH-AWD w/Advance and I'm having a hell of a time trying to get the emissions monitors to lock in after a battery swap.

I replaced the battery about two weeks ago, and have driven almost 2000 miles since then. I've done multiple step-by-step drive cycles according to various forums for other Hondas, but nothing is working. I have no CELs or anything like that going on.

I've done A/C on/off, defroster on/off, Sport+ with some higher RPMs. I'm completely stumped on what I should do, since this is my daily driver.

I had the same thing happen to my other car (2007 Infiniti G35S) and only drove ~50 miles on that one and they all registered fine without any special steps…

I can get a temporary registration, but what if this doesn't solve itself by the time that expires?

Any help is appreciated. And please don't tell me to just "keep driving" because that obviously is not working. 😭

EDIT: I was able to get all of the monitors set last night. As I pulled into the inspection place, I got a CEL for the catalytic converters fml 🫩
