Polly and her new friend, Desmo.

Rescued a new kitten recently, she's slowly beginning to tolerate his presence.

First time having Abyssinian! Absolute gorgeous

First time owning an Abyssinian, I've owned multiple cats before. Somali Tawny's are drop dead gorgeous. Once I saw a Somali Tawny online, I knew I had to get one. Meet 'Romulus'. They're so inquisitive, intelligent, and curious. Extremely vocal, and super affectionate. Romulus is currently 10 months, and he's friend 'Artemis' 4 yrs.

Anyone thinking about getting Somali Tawny (Short, or Long Haired). They're gorgeous cats, but tend to have a reasonable price tag. $1k+

Looking for Abyssinian breeders recommendation(health first)

Our Aby boy passed away very young from a genetic kidney issue. It was really hard on us. honestly I’m still not doing great mentally and relying on medicacine to get enough sleep.

We’re now looking for an Abyssinian kitten again, but this time health is our absolute top priority. We’re being extremely serious about genetic testing and breeder practices because of what we went through.

We know about the CFA breeder referral list—our previous breeder was actually on it and considered reputable—but after our experience, we don’t fully trust lists anymore and would rather rely on real-world feedback and transparency.

We’re based on the west coast, but location doesn’t matter. We’re willing to pay whatever it takes and go anywhere for a truly health-focused Aby that we can hopefully care for for many years.

If anyone knows breeders who really prioritize health and do thorough testing, I’d really appreciate the recommendations.

(my last post was removed due to an unintentional rule violation so repost again here)

Does your Aby drool?

I love my cat so much - she’s the sweetest girl, so playful & energetic, definitely feel there’s a whole soul in there.

BUT DAMN THAT DROOL.

We call her Droolina - as soon as she’s petted, the faucet turns on. It’s not dire yet. I’m hoping it’s a kitten phase (she’s 5 months) but if not, I have to get used to this gross expression of pure relaxition & serenity.

Love that she feels safe with me, hate that it manifests as drool 😭

Kitty names wanted

My partner and I are adopting this gorgeous little man. We’re looking for a name that captures his cheeky confident personality. We thought Milo might be a good name (others shortlisted included Roscoe, Beans, Monoco and Blu because of his Blue collar). Any other ideas or does Milo feel right for our boy?
