I watched the Motherwell v Celtic game last night with not a hint of jealousy, but a massive dose of it. Despite the result not going their way Motherwell were excellent. There was a 20 minute spell in that second half you'd have thought they had 20x the budget of the team they were up against.

Would JBA have come to Aberdeen in January or even November (when it clearly wasn't working for JT) if Dave had trebled his wages or something? We'll never know.

But having turgidly sat through all but one of Aberdeen's games this season (both in the stand and on TV) it's hard not to wonder.

That's it really, an appreciation post for the job he's done with a micro budget, journeymen and unfancied players.

*Mods, feel free to delete if it doesn't fit the criteria for this sub but I had to get it out somewhere!

Preview

Aberdeen now have set there sights to finish 7th in the league. Robison could potentially make sure his former side will be in the relegation play off. He has suggested he will play different plays so they get a chance to impress.

Mitov and Armstrong both have had operations so they are out for the season.

Lazetic who was missing from the squad on Saturday has had to come home for a family emergency.

Jensen and Geiger both have little knocks so unlikely to play.

Which players would you like to see get a chance?

2-0 Dundee united (a)

1-1 (h)

0-0 (a)

This weekend we welcome Dundee United at Pittodrie. We haven’t had much luck against them lately. Our last win was when Peter Ambrose scored late on in October 2024.

Team news

Gyamfi is back fully fit

Devlin has only had 3 full days of training so will likely miss out

Knoester is now classed as “fully fit” by Robinson so does that suggest he starts tomorrow?

Jensen has a wee “niggle” so he’s out of tomorrow

Milne is fine after going down with cramp.

Hopefully 3 points to cement us staying up. As always what’s your prediction? Any changes? 4 at the back to see how that would be under Robinson?
