Wheel made me worse on ACC… what am I doing wrong?

Hey guys,

About a week ago I switched from controller to a Logitech G29 in Assetto Corsa Competizione, and honestly my experience has been really frustrating.

On controller I was fairly competitive and confident, and I thought moving to a wheel would make me faster pretty quickly. Instead, I’ve gone backwards:

  • I’m ~2 seconds slower than my controller times
  • I’m constantly scared to push
  • When I do push, I lose the rear under braking or on entry
  • The car just doesn’t rotate the same way anymore
  • I can’t even complete clean races consistently

The worst part is I don’t even know what to fix.

I’ve watched a lot of videos (trail braking, racing line, etc.) and I was already applying those concepts on controller. Now I’m trying to do the same things on a wheel, but it just doesn’t work — the car feels completely different and I’ve lost control over it.

It feels like I’ve gone from understanding the car to having no idea what it’s doing.

Is this normal when switching to a wheel?
What should I actually focus on to get through this phase?

Would really appreciate some guidance because right now it’s taken a lot of the enjoyment out of the game.

1:29.962 with the Reiter REX.... what magic did I conjure up??

Audio is offset for some reason. No clue why.

This was in a qualifying session in an open lobby. My friend and I were messing with the Reiter when I made a setup that is actually drive-able

Another note to add is that i did this with about 30L of fuel on board

How in God's Green Earth did I not get a even a track limits warning here?

I originally wanted to stop and slow down to give back the time but I wanted to see what would happen if I didn't.

Also is the contact my fault

Fellow G29/920/923 or weak FFB users

I've been sim racing for around 5 or 6 years now. I stopped for around 6 months because I couldn't handle the FFB of the G29. It's so messy and just didn't work most of the time. Now I came back, checked software updates and watched a few guides and practiced.

What I came up with is:

Gain-73

Minimum force-4

Dynamic damping-12

Road effects-30

At a steerlock of 510 degrees and using the M4GT3 pretty much all the time because high downforce cars have way more clipping issues at high speeds.

I'll be thankful if some people with experience could share their overall settings.

Preferably people with atleast 50 SA and some wheel that lacks powerful and precise FFB but im also open for advice from people that wouldnt even feel 3NM

My McLaren 650 dilemma

I’ve heard it called a go kart, but I honestly love this car. This might be a crazy take but other than the Porsche, this is the only car that I can get to rotate the way I want it to. I really love the feel of this car and how it handles, but it’s sooo slow. I don’t know if it’s just straight line slow or something, but it’s painfully slow.

Are there any mods or anything I can do to make this car at least a little bit more competitive? Or is the solution to just race cars from the same generation? I’ve tried the 720 but it really doesn’t have the same feeling. The 650 feels to me like it rotates from the centre of the car, and with a little bit of damper tuning it really comes alive without feeling like the back is going to run away.

Is there anything I can do to the 720 to give it a similar feeling? Or is there any other cars with the same kind of character outside of the Porsche?

It’s a dilemma, but the 650 is one of my favourite cars.

Why doesn't ACC or AC EVO have older GT3 cars like these to race against modern gt3 cars?

I think both games REALLY need these cars added.

What do you guys think?

Triple screen FPS (problem?)

Hi all, I recently having issue with my triple screen setup being around 70-90 fps depends on track even with the lowest setting and DLSS on, with 1080p on all monitors

My PC spec is

I5-13500

RTX5060 Ti 16Gb

24Gb RAM

1200w PSU

Does this spec should run around this FPS or I missed some important setting? Or this spec is bottleneck?

Thank you!

Consigli per iniziare

Good evening everyone, I bought ACC Competition for PS5 during the latest sales, but I'm completely inexperienced and it's the first serious racing simulator I've bought. Could you give me some advice, considering I just want to go fast and overtake my opponents?

For example, no matter how much I slow down on corners, I still can't go around them at speed.

Could you give me a hand or some advice?

Why can't I take Eau Rouge flat out?

I know it's skills issue. I'm driving the Porsche 992 and just can't get the initial turn in right. I've been playing a lot of iRacing and the green kerb isn't there on ACC Spa's bottom of the hill, so I cut a little less, but for whatever reason when I crank the steering to the right for the second turn, the car has absolutely no grip, hence I always wash out to the left.

I assume I don't have to lift because lap times look similar to top players, I'm nowhere near on pace but I can do a 2:20 to 2:22 in iRacing consistently and hit Eau Rouge flat out no problem. So what is different about the physics? Should I lift or steer earlier? The car feels like it has no weight most of the time.

New comer

Hello guys, I’ve been with sim racing for many years but I was solely on Rally entertainments. Only as recently as last 1 week, I’d decided to give some try to super cars, they are truly well equipped and well managed by wheel bases. I’ve got Sim magic Evo, P1000RS with Haptic feed backs. I’m still on round steering for rally cars and I’m considering to change to one of those fancy steerings. My question is would it make a difference ? Or it’s pure immersion? I’m seriously enjoying more and more of the GT racing !!! So I think I should invest some more, any guidance would be truly appreciated.

Best controller settings on PS5?

Hey everyone, just got ACC on the ps5 (was debating between this and PMR and decided to get this). I played around with the controller settings and found some that are "okay-ish" I think. The game is fantastic and the sounds are just the cherry on top.

Im wondering if any of you guys have tried and tested ps5 controller setups you don't mind sharing. Would love to keep playing and get better at the game.

Thank you all in advance :)

Finally Made Silver License!! (Going for Gold)

So I don’t exactly know if it’s alright but I’m very proud of the fact I’ve made Silver, I spent about 300 hours nearly on ACC and most of that was on pubs… in Monza. So my ratings were hellishly low when I started racing in leagues.

After joining a league, my ratings skyrocketed and I’ve made silver mid-race!

Any suggestions to get to gold?? Any tips/tricks?

1.50.3xy in Monza on the 992 GT3R (ACC) (new to sim)

Gonna be a long one, bear with me.

‎ Im not completely new to the sim racing world. I used to do Ac (smtimes f1 aswell but it wasn't fun) BUT with controller from 2023-2024 sometimes used to rent a wheel for a day or two but my laptimes were always better off on controller ofc, since I wasnt used to wheel.

Well, recently I decided to fully take up this hobby for real and went for the r5 bundle (with brake perfomance kit). Ofc the rabbit hole never ends and im already planning for upgrades.

Anyways coming to ACC

(got wheel and game last week)

I have been maining the 992 gt3r, not the best car to focus on but happens to be my fav to controll.

I have been lapping around monza since yesterday and my PB is around 1:50.3YY.

How good of a laptime is this considering my hours on the track and the game itself?

Any tips and suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

New to Asetto Corsa Evo

I've been watching some game play on Twitch. Looks pretty good. Similar to original Asetto Corsa. Wondering how people's experiences have been with the game so far before I spend 40 bucks on Steam.

Appreciate the feedback in the matter.

Why does ACC feel like I'm driving a truck?

Sup guys. I've been playing GT7 almost daily for about a year. Lately I've become so bored of the ever repeating Daily Races, that I started to check out ACC (PS5). First thing I noticed was the graphics aren't up to GT7's standard, but the sound and the realism kinda makes up for that. But the handling of the cars feels kinda slow and unresponsive, compared to GT7. Sometimes it feels like I'm driving a big ass truck, not a race car. Everybody praises ACC's handling, so maybe I'm spoiled by playing GT7 for so long? Also the FFB feels weaker than in GT7. I'm using a T300 and I didn't mess around with the settings, except for gain. In some cars I had to turn it up to 200% to feel some resistance. But with most cars I just leave it on 100%. When I play GT7, it feels fine. So it's not broken or something.

What are your experiences with a T300 and ACC on PS5? Is there some secret setting that I'm missing? And which one of the two games feels closer to driving a real race car, if you have ever driven one?
