Hello all,

I'm planning ahead of my group and trying to get a head start on my homebrew pirate themed campaign.

In my "Caribbean", I'd like a minimum of 3 islands. Set in the earth era of the 1600's, for the Golden Age of Piracy, I want sea travel to be necessary and right now I have a roughly 500 square mile grid.

That being said, the main island that will have one city, one town, and a scattering of villages and plantations, how much space should that island take up in my ~500 square mile map?

I'm operating off of a scale of 24 miles per day on roads, with each hex being 3 miles.
