Why did you get your 5090?

Just curious, what made you go with the top of the line? Personally I just wanted whatever I threw at it with max settings but I feel like I'm under utilizing it.

I would like to use it for more intensive stuff but not sure where to start.

Examples of games with broken MAX settings that we should turn down and increase DLSS instead?

In some games you'll get flickering of shadows or other graphical glitches. In chapter 3 black myth wukong path tracing i was getting horrible mushy smearing from the trees in the snow level. feels like the branches and leaves got too fine at cinematic settings for dlss to reconstruct.

i spent hours turning settings up and down to figure out what was causing it. even having to restart the game every time i changed a setting because it seemed like the performance was always the same.

but i swear different angles brought it back or sometimes it was the distance that triggered it.

Would be nice if we could share our findings and save some time. I tried crimson desert at launch and its beautiful but holy shit theres some funky visual glitches going on even with MAX RR lighting. which i guess begs the question... is there a way to fix it. maybe a config file tweak?

the thing is most guides to tweak graphics settings are to optimize it to run better for mid range. theres rarely a place to talk about how to make the game look better.
