ICE agents pull gun on and beat a New York teenager, then realize they got the wrong person and dump him injured far from home
This isn’t just a political will to power, it’s a political will to White power. And if we don’t name it — explicitly and frequently — then we will become complicit in its execution. - Eddie Glaude Jr.
May 10, 2026. MS NOW’s Antonia Hylton interviews Princeton professor Eddie Glaude Jr.
Description: Southern states are taking advantage of a pair of recent Supreme Court decisions in order to quickly re-make their congressional maps ahead of November’s midterms. In effect, the political power of many Black Americans are being taken away.

From L.A. TACO:
We just published one of the hardest, longest, and most heart-wrenching projects in the history of L.A. TACO, what we internally referred to as “The Death Tracker.”
It is 71 pages dedicated to the 64 immigration related deaths since the Trump administration took over. It’s not just a list of names; we spent months looking for these people’s back stories, to re-humanize them and share the truth alongside what the DHS reported or failed to report. We have 46 stories of those who have died in custody, 9 during enforcement operations, 6 after being released from ICE Detention, 2 during mass shootings, and 1 by an off-duty agent.

ICE pulls gun and bloodies NYC teenager before 'dumping him in random location'
themirror.comCome to the Eugene City Council meeting at 7:30 & tell em how you feel about EPD and ICE
There's a City Council meeting tonight at 7:30 PM, at:
500 E. 4th Avenue
Eugene, OR 97401
The City of Eugene has been working with the feds, and the culture of EPD is clearly toxic, racist, and protective of abusers. Things we should all be concerned about:
Here is a look into Eugene Police Department culture (content warning: domestic abuse, racism): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqKaFcpE6Uo
Another video from the body cam of the same officer: https://vimeo.com/1191286275/214be21fdc?fl=pl&fe=sh
EPD has also been working with ICE. They have:
- Pulled over ICE legal observers to allow ICE cars to get away,
- Guarded ICE cars as they left the fed building with masked agents
- Protected federal agents from protesters to allow feds to gas people
- Protected the fence construction from 20 people with signs
- Harassed protesters megaphoning at the building while freely allowing bigoted religious hate groups to megaphone at Saturday market
And now this.
Meanwhile, the City of Eugene planning department fast-tracked permits to allow the federal government to install the Federal Building fence. They could have at least issued a resolution to ask the City Manager not to grant them those permits, but they refused to do so.
The City Manager needs to fire Chief Skinner. We can't accept this in our city.
Chief Skinner will be attending tonight's meeting, as a means to intimidate protesters who would face up to him. We need to come out in numbers, because we are stronger together.
Come on out and help hold our city leaders accountable for failing us this badly.

Lookout doing some solid reporting at yesterday’s protests!
The Lookout reporter shares that he witnessed and filmed the moment a protester was arrested while walking in the cross walk:
The majority of the sidewalk area adjacent to the Eugene Federal Building had been closed off during construction, and there was no other obvious provocation leading to the arrest.
“[T]he person was arrested for Disorderly Conduct,” Eugene police spokesperson Melinda McLaughlin said in an email.
McLaughlin said the person was blocking the roadway, though that was not evident from what a Lookout Eugene-Springfield reporter at the scene witnessed and recorded in a video immediately prior to the man’s arrest.
The story also shares that one of the workers walked off the job after learning what it was for:
Sawyer O’Quinn described walking off the job as an independent contractor after accepting it from a “third-party job app.” From Salem, O’Quinn said no information was given about the job, only that it involved putting up fencing.
It wasn’t an immediate decision, however.
“I picked up one of those fences, fence posts, and set it down and was like, ‘I need the money. I need the money,'” O’Quinn said. “Nope, I don’t need the money as much as I need my morals.
“The Constitution says that people are not supposed to be getting pulled out of their homes and off the streets without any of the proper channels being taken, and that’s what’s happening in our country now,” O’Quinn said, referring to immigration enforcement under President Donald Trump. “So I’m not going to be a part of what helps that along in the wrong f****** direction.”
He said some protesters offered help finding a place to spend the night.
“When it comes down to it, I think that’s how our country (is) supposed to run. People are supposed to take care of each other,” O’Quinn said.
ICE is here in our city. It's still happening here. These photos were just taken at the Federal Building.
Watch for these cars and faces!
How can I help?
- Join the MILCER chat (Melt ICE Lane County Emergency Response System) to submit VERIFIED ICE sightings in Eugene or Springfield to the chat admins (https://signal.group/#CjQKIKsEh-D_ttls9872fwz_AyTN47qxtFmTxYIn0RQPgEf7EhBjtewIutClRLEIFOf1kK6Y)
- Patrol the community and keep an eye out for ICE activity.
What do I do if I see ICE agents in the community?
- Blow a whistle: 3 loud, sharp blasts
- Exercise your First Amendment rights and notify your neighbors.
- Report the following to the MILCER chat administrators and the PIRC hotline (888-622-1510):
- S- Size
- A- Activity
- L- Location
- U-Uniform
- T- Time
- E- Equipment
- Record them and their activity. If you feel comfortable, follow them, or get close enough to get a better image with as much detail as possible. Share those recordings with MILCER admins, on social media, and any other local groups you are a part of.
- If you got their license plate, you can check it in this database: https://pdxicescan.com/
We protect us. EPD, SPD and the city are collaborating with ICE, and we can't rely on them. It's up to us to keep our community safe.
Right now in America, power is counting on fragmentation.
Separate voices.
Separate protests.
Separate demands.
Divide and Conquer.
That ends here.
Standards Not Force is building a unified national framework called:
The Twelve Pillars of Democratic Accountability
A system where:
• Every grievance is written
• Every demand is clear
• Every institution is held to a timeline
• Every escalation is lawful, public, and relentless
What is Standards Not Force?
Standards Not Force is a civic standards initiative focused on lawful, nonviolent action. It is structured. It is disciplined. It is coordinated.
We promote transparency, accountability, and community safety through shared standards - not fear, force, or coercion.
If you believe in:
• protecting communities
• defending constitutional rights
• de-escalation over confrontation
• unity over division
Then you are in the right place.
What is Standards Not Force doing now?
The SNF Minneapolis Pilot began March 1, 2026 and is currently in progress. In Minneapolis-St. Paul, Standards Not Force is currently doing business outreach and deploying:
- 700 posters
- 15,000 cards and flyers
- 1,100 window clings
- 700 yard signs
- 80 plaques
This is establishing the first Community Safety Zones. These zones stand on three non-negotiable standards:
- No deportations
- No family separations
- No handcuffing or arresting children
Standards Not Force has also sent over 13,000 emails (11,696 emails in the past 9 days alone) to targeted corporations in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. The original goal, 5,000 emails, was far surpassed.
Businesses and corporations operating in Minneapolis–St. Paul are being formally asked one simple question:
Do you support these standards: yes or no?
Those not in support will receive formal grievances with demands.
Clear. Lawful. Documented.
This is not symbolic.
This is a coordinated system of accountability being built in real time. We are documenting responses. We are keeping track.
Positive Initial Results
This targeted email campaign has already secured its first tangible results; both General Mills and IHG Hotels and Resorts have agreed to update their policies in compliance with the requests put forth through Standards Not Force action. We are anticipating more positive corporate response in the following weeks.
But this is just the start; this is only phase one. This is not theory. This is not discussion. This is coordinated direct action.
How can I help?
Sign up for the TIER II VOLUNTEER LIST. Tier II volunteers will send emails to corporations in the targeted area (currently Minneapolis-St.Paul, with Portland, OR and San Diego, CA coming up). You can do this from home in very little time each week. You will be provided the email you will send and the list of corporations you will send it to. This will establish public standards we set forth and put corporations on the record, either supporting or denouncing this administration's Family Separation Policy.
What If I Want To Do More?
- Consider joining or forming a ground team in your city. Ground teams will put up flyers and window clings, perform business outreach, and document their results. A team has already been formed in Eugene, OR and has multiple open roles to fill when we mobilize there.
- Consider joining a committee if you have specific skills. We have committees for Standards & Language, Legal & Compliance, Infrastructure Mapping, Communications & Intake, Measurement & Documentation, And Fundraising. If you have particular skills in these areas, consider joining a committee. Committee positions are limited and vetted.
What Comes Next?
The Minneapolis–St. Paul campaign runs through April 30.
Then we expand:
Portland.
San Diego.
Same model.
Greater scale.
More participation.
FINAL POINT
This is not about force.
This is about Standards.
And Standards only work when people are willing to uphold them.
If you are already part of this, stay engaged.
If you are watching on the sidelines, step in.
We are building something that can scale.
And we are just getting started.
