Saw people dressed up in costumes at the security line. What’s going on? Comic Con?

One of my favorite parts about trooping: interacting with kids! They're such a joy, and say the funniest things 😆
That's one of the best things about being part of the 501st/Rebel Legion 😊 Pictured is my Hera Syndulla build, but I'm currently working on two 501st costumes (Darth Atroxa and Lyn Me)! I'll be joining y'all on the Dark Side soon!

Remembering Katie Johnson, beloved daughter of Albin Johnson, who would have turned 28 today.
Today, the Imperial Scottish Garrison remembers Katie Johnson, beloved daughter of Albin Johnson, who would have turned 28 today.
Katie’s courage, kindness, and spirit continue to inspire people across the world. Through her battle with cancer, she showed extraordinary strength and reminded us all what hope, resilience, and community truly mean. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy lives on in every act of compassion and every person carrying her story forward.
The R2KT Ambassadroids stand as a lasting tribute to Katie’s fight — traveling the globe, bringing smiles to children and families, and spreading the message of hope that Katie embodied so beautifully. From hospitals to conventions and charity events, these droids continue her mission worldwide, proving that heroes come in many forms.
Today we honour Katie, celebrate her life, and remember the impact she continues to have on the Star Wars community and beyond.
For Katie. Always.

Looking for the best Battlefront stormtrooper helmet STL’s
I am looking for the best STL’s for a Battlefront stormtrooper helmet. It’s a little different from helmets from ANH but similar to ROTJ.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
Reworked an old bucket - 3D Printed Phase 1 Helmet
Decided to take another look at a helmet I printed a while ago. The helmet was... fine, but uninspired. Decided to add some weathering using an airbrush and dry brushing. Need to re-install the visor material, but after that I'm calling it done.

I’ve been doing Vader for the 501st for around 5 months now. Every time I costume Vader for troops, I always get the same comment: “Aren’t you a bit short for a Vader” The answer is yes! Outside the suit, I stand at just 5’3. With some clever building techniques and paying close attention to fit, I was able to raise my height to around 5’7. Still extremely short for a Vader, but the most I can do without risking discomfort.
So how did I pull it off? Well, here’s some tips I’ve got for those interested in costuming Vader, but are worried about their height.
- As obvious as it seems, platform boots are NOT allowed! To get around this, boots with the maximum allowable heel clearance of 2 inches are needed. Get a size up so that you can fit internal lifts inside to get even more height. Don’t go overboard though, you still want to be comfortable and nothing’s worse than a bad pair of boots.
- Pay close attention to the fit of the soft parts. Baggy, oversized leather suits, a cape that’s too long and drags can actually make someone look shorter. A well tailored bodysuit and capeset can give off the illusion that you’re taller than you look.
- Lineage parts like armor and helmets casted off originals may not work for you if you’re under a certain height. This is not to say that those options are bad, but be very careful as they may make you look very disproportionate, if the correct fitting measures aren’t taken. My helmet is just a hair smaller than an EFX, which was taken from an original. It looks way better on me than that one due to the slightly downscaled size. If you have the money and time to wait, scaled sets are an option, but be prepared to wait and spend a ton of money.
At the end of the day, nobody cares about your height. It doesn’t matter if you’re 5’5, or 6’8, we all do this for the same reason: to give back to the community and make people happy. There’s been very many folks that told me I could never make it happen, that I’d never get approved at such a short height, but I just ignored them. I got my approval on the first try when I submitted, and now troop as the dark lord while having fun. If I can pull it off at such a short height, so can you!
