Found a Gear 360 (2017) for $40 USD, but there's a small scratch on the center lens. How bad will this affect the stitching or 4K footage?"

Samsung Gear 360 (2017) compatibility in 2026?

I found a really cheap Samsung Gear 360 (2017) on a local marketplace, and I’m tempted because of the image quality/price ratio. However, I’m worried about the software side since Samsung officially killed the app years ago. is there anyone here still rocking this camera on the latest iOS version in 2026?Is I’d love to know:

App Connection: Does the official "Samsung Gear 360" app even open/connect on the newest iOS, or is it completely broken?thx

Questions About Using a 360 Camera Instead of Multiple Cameras

Background: I am a hobbyist photographer whose (modest) following has expressed interest in seeing behind the scenes videos. I currently use my old camera or a cellphone mounted statically, record horizontally in 4K, then chop it up into ~2 minute horizontal and vertical videos of that one angle plus the resulting images for transitions.

My first thought for an upgrade was to swap the single camera/cellphone out for a 360 or gimbal camera that could track the subject. My overall workflow would be the same (camera on tripod, chop up a single video for horizontal and vertical playback), just without having to worry about if the model was centered as they move around.

Then I remembered the first rule of government spending: why build buy one when you can build buy two at twice the price? With two cameras, I could cut between a shot of myself and a shot of the model, justifying making longer videos because they wouldn't be so static.

But is there a third way? Can you use a single 360 camera to record two simultaneous subject tracking videos? Or is there an editing software on Android that would make it easy to take the 360 video and cut back and forth between two tracked subjects in editing?

(I searched 'multiple subject tracking 360 camera' and didn't find a result, but if this has already been discussed please share the thread with me)

What you think about this price?

Hello everyone, sorry if I can't post these here.

That combo is for 250 from Amazon es. For comparison I can get a insta x4 air for 350. That's seems a really good deal with the 3 batteries.

What you think? Thanks

DJI Osmo 360 Low Light – better than the rest?

Yo guys, just shot an indoor ghost train with the DJI Osmo 360 and I’m low-key blown away.

I usually run the X5 or Qoocam 3 Ultra, but the DJI feels way more "real" and less "AI-mushy" in the dark. Just my personal vibe after the edit – no scientific lab test here. lol.

Anyone else impressed by the DJI low light lately?

(Footage is on my YouTube channel ThemePark360 if you want to see the "Ride to Hell" POV!)

Insta360 X5 or Xtra 360: Which one would you choose? Here are my thoughts after using both.

https://preview.redd.it/gfrmkbdz04vg1.jpg?width=9504&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4a10b908580843e82d646a2bdade98b1a5f57c73

I've been testing both of these cameras recently and I'm curious what you guys would choose.

Specs:The Xtra 360 is the clear winner here. It packs a larger 1/1.1-inch CMOS sensor compared to the X5's 1/1.28-inch. It also pushes 8K video at 50fps, while the Insta360 maxes out at 8K/30fps.

However, in actual use? The Insta360 X5 actually delivers better-looking footage in daylight. The image is just more pleasing to the eye. At night, they both perform about the same.

The deciding factor is the cost. I got the Xtra for $329, but the Insta360 was $550.

Conclusion: If you have the money to burn, get the X5. If you're on a budget, the Xtra 360 is a no-brainer.

What do you guys value more? Drop any questions below and I'll try to answer!

I try to do a 360 live stream

I’m going to try doing a 360 live stream using an Insta360 X4. The stream will be hosted on http://s-cam.xyz, a site I built myself. I’m not sure if everything will work smoothly, but if you have some free time, I’d really appreciate it if you could check it out!

I wouldn't lose my phones if I had this

I just saw someone posting a similar device that he designed to allow his 360 camera float while recording his kayaking. So I looked it up and found a lot of designs. (I couldn't upload more images once the post was posted. Sorry.)

For example:

https://makerworld.com/en/models/1719579-bottle-cap-mount-floating-grip-for-action-cams

https://makerworld.com/en/models/1797019-action-camera-bottle-quick-release

https://makerworld.com/en/models/1476920-gopro-floating-ring-boat

You can also diy with soda bottle or pool noodles, or design your own 3d print.

Of course, you can optimize and design your own. I'm just so happy to share my findings with you, hoping it could be convenient for you one day.

Feel free to share your camera floaties or anything you find useful. Thank you!
