What’s something from the 2000s you wish you could experience again for the first time?

Lately I’ve been going down a pretty deep 2000s nostalgia rabbit hole — old cartoons, early internet days, movie nights, even stuff like burned CDs and sitting around watching whatever was on TV.

There was just something about that time that felt… simpler. Not necessarily perfect, but more laid back and memorable in a way that’s hard to explain.

I’ve been revisiting a lot of it recently — shows like SpongeBob, Fairly OddParents, Jimmy Neutron — and it honestly brought back way more than I expected.

It actually got me to start a small community centered around that era (mostly 90s/2000s stuff) where we:

  • Run cartoon showdown brackets
  • Do movie nights
  • Share random throwback stuff

Nothing crazy, just a chill place to hang out and talk about the stuff we grew up with.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, you’re welcome to check it out:

But I’m more curious about this —

What’s one thing from the 2000s you’d want to experience again for the first time?

Family Guy is the Call of Duty of adult animation

Little kids love both because they want to appeal edgy and mature by engaging with them when they both appeal to a young audience. Family Guy has aged like piss. The charactes aren't likable, it thinks saying fuck over and over again is comedy, the animation is ugly, it panders to obnoxious high school dudebros and kids, Brian is a sexual predator and it's just nothing but swearing and shit jokes.

It reenforces the idea that adult animation equals saying fuck all the time. It's such a product of the late 2000s and should really stay there. I don't know why zoomers like it other than nostalgia and the fact it's raunchier than South Park. It's aged as badly as Rocket Power.
