Glock 29 Gen 5 reliability

For those who have the G29 G5, how has it held up? I remember seeing mixed reports of reliability/overall issues with previous generations. I might be looking to get one as a smaller/more easily carried alternative to my G20 G5.

G29 conversion barrel

Can anyone recommend a conversation barrel 10mm to .40S&W for a G29? I have a ridiculous amount of .40, and have conversation barrels for my G40 and G20 made by KKM and Lone Wolf respectively. Very happy with both.

Looks like both companies at one time made conversions for the G29 but have been out of stock for eons.

Not interested in an argument about whether its safe to shoot .40 out of a stock Glock 10mm. For me it pencils out to buy conversion barrels and shoot the .40 when just plinking vs buying target 10mm. And I read a ton and decided to go the conversion barrel route.

All I’m saying….

The G29 with XGrip sleeve on a G20/40 mag turns the 29 into a G45 equivalent in my mind. Same grip length as a 17 and same slide length as a 19, well in my case a 23.4 but close enough. Hopefully taking it to the range tomorrow to see how it goes. The trigger is a Tyrant cnc I.T.T.S shoe

I completed the 10mm trifecta today: 20, 29 and 40

I’ve wanted a 29 for years and just never bought one. I was in the market for one this past month only to discover stores couldn’t get them anymore and I found them selling for $1100-1500 on Gunbroker after their discontinuation. Luck me I stopped at a small gun store with one new in box for $619.

DS Warrior RMEF - Anybody?

I'm super curious about the RMEF edition of the new Kimber DS Warrior. It's the 5" which comes with a comp from the factory. It also has laser engraving on the side which I'm not a huge fan of, but may be willing to overlook if the comp really works well. I'm a big fan of the look of the 6", so I'm a little conflicted on which one I will get. I've seen a few videos of the 6" (LS) on YouTube, but have yet to see a review of the RMEF. Has anybody gotten their hands on one yet, or found any reviews?

Thank you!

M&P 2.0

Hello all, I got an issue and hope some can help! I have contact S&W customer service about it. But some of you are way more knowledgeable than me, and hopefully can help. Disassembly, the slide coming off is perfect. But when I try to reassemble and it always hits a wall and will not go all the way back, so I can lock the slide using the slide lock. The sear lever is up and I always follow instructions and watch a YouTube video if need be (usually the first few times I buy a new pistol). If I play with the trigger it will allow it, but it is a pain. My other Smiths easily go on the slide during reassembly without having to touch or fiddle with the trigger. Super aggravating and hopefully some people can offer some insight! Thank you for taking the time to read this! The recoil spring and guide is seated correctly as well, takedown lever is down, and safety is off. I’m kinda at a loss.

Are comps worth it?

I have been carrying a smith M&P 2.0 in 10 mm and came across that smith is offering a replacement slide that’s comped but do yall think the reductions are worth it?

How much a week do you spend on ammo?

Or how much generally in a range visit do you spend? I want to get a 10mm, but the price is the issue. I don’t mind shooting less powerful rounds at the range, I’d rather be able to plink and shoot with the cheaper lesser powerful rounds, and then train and care the more expensive powerful ones, but say if I visit the range once a week, how much more am I going to be spending on ammo than if I were to just get a 9mm?

Which Tanfoglio?

Hey ya’ll, just wondering which Tanfoglio to get as a former Glock 20 owner that wants something similar ish.

I’d like a more Glock 19 sized 4 inch or so barrel though with the best reliability and best holster selection (unless I just get cz75B holsters) it would be an appendix iwb for when I’m in civilization and a kenai chest holster style for the woods.

Would I be ok with a compact defiant or something like a stock II is basically what I’m saying. I’m leaning towards an all metal because somehow I’d grip the Glock 20 enough to warp the frame and cause malfunctions but couldn’t ride the fine line of being loose enough to also not cause malfunctions as weird as that may sound.

Is 10mm actually twice the price of 9mm?

How much does good range ammo cost? I know I should train with the more powerful rounds I would carry in the woods too, but how much would I be spending visiting the range weekly?

Pair of Glocks

Glock 20 and 29 gen 4s. Jagerwerks cut the 20; Battlewerks cut the 29. Both great shooting pistols. 29 is my CCW for up north or traveling out west/Alaska. Hides well appendix but carries a lot of ass. 20 is my open carry bear or backup gun, I have a KKM barrel threaded and cut to 5.51 inches for legal hunting, but most of the time it wears factory. 180grxtp Handloads or Underwood 220 in both.

Should I not get 10mm for my first gun?

I plan on getting a full service sized pistol for the range, hiking, and home defense. I planned on getting the Glock 20 probably.

Then I was going to get a compact 9mm when I get my Cpl for EDC.

I live in Michigan not Alaska, the worst thing I’ll encounter is a black bear or a pack of stray dogs, 10mm might be a little overkill, but it does sound better to have a bigger bullet, plus 10mm pistols are bigger and I am 6’6 with big hands.

I feel I won’t like the intense recoil for it being a range gun, plus I worry 10mm will be considerably more expensive. I feel like bear spray and 9mm will be more than enough.

So, I just picked up this Ruger SR1911 Talo edition Night Watchman in 10mm. It’s my first 10mm 1911 and the first bushingless bull barrel. Any recommendation on the needed weight for both the recoil and main springs? What’s been everyone’s experience with Ruger’s 10mm offerings?

Starter gun finally maxed out

Took me awhile and a bit of working, but finally got myself my dream combat handgun with a few A/M parts to boot. Yeah I know I should probably upgrade the flashlight but that's not a priority. Stupid bright for the price and it still works for now.

SilencerCo Hybrid 46DT paired with a YHM booster, KVP 9/16x24 gen 2 piston, Vortex Defender ST 6MOA, Lone Wolf fluted 6.34 inch barrel, and iProtec RM600 flashlight. Measures in just under 18 inches overall.
