Using pressure to force oil finish deeper into grain

Using pressure to force oil finish deeper into grain

Since the process for treating wood uses pressure to drive the chemicals into the wood, could I use a pressure cooker to force deeper a 1:1 mix of tung oil and mineral spirits/d-limonene (or even 1:2 oil/thinner for better results) for the initial coat and then wipe on regularly with only tung oil. This would be done safely, of course. The wood dimensions are roughly 5”x2.5”x1.5” and wood species such as African mahogany and walnut.

Would this be worth the effort to make the grain pop more? Should I just try it and compare pressure cooker results to atmosphere pressure results?
