Female cardinal protecting herself from her reflection (NH)

I accidentally deleted my earlier post… this female cardinal started banging into my kitchen window yesterday. I posted here asking if she needs help and learned she’s probably attacking her reflection to protect her nest.

She started again at about 5:30 this morning. I don’t mind that she’s doing it, but I’m afraid she’s going to get hurt.

The window screens are on the inside, so I drew on the outside of the windows with bar soap to try to break up or block her reflection, but that doesn’t seem to have made any difference.

Any ideas?

New Hampshire: Does this Cardinal need help?

This female cardinal appeared outside my kitchen window about a week ago and has been a regular visitor. Today we saw a male with her. They are very active and seem healthy — but the female keeps banging into my kitchen window. This has been going on for at least 45 minutes now (I noticed her when I got home).

I took those dried orange slices and winter berries out of the window incase they looked enticing, but she’s still doing it.

Do I leave her be, or does she need help?

How’d I do? First time w/ press ons…

I’ve never done press ons before … I’m pretty useless with a bottle of polish, and don’t go for professional mani’s very often, but like having my nails done, so I thought I would give this a go. Just a simple matte black to try them out, but I’ve got color sets too for next times

Anyway, selecting the right sizes, and trimming and shaping them felt intimidating at first, even though it was all quite simple… but that initial hesitation is sticking with me, so I’m looking for feedback on how these look :)

I've owned my home in New Hampshire for 10 years now, which means its time to replace the smoke alarms I installed when I bought the place 10 years ago. It didn't stand out to me then, but while replacing them this time, I noticed there is no Smoke / CO alarm in my utility room in the basement.

Am I missing something, or shouldn't the room with the fire in it (furnace, hot water heater) have a smoke/co alarm?
