Just got accepted to UMD as a transfer for Fall 2026 (coming from a MD community college) and trying to get a real feel for what day-to-day life is like.

A few things I’m curious about:

- How social is it outside of the bars? I’ve only been to Cstone and Looney’s

- Do most people cook, eat out, dining plans?

- What’s something about UMD that people don’t realize until they’re actually here?

- Any advice specifically for transfers adjusting?

Not really looking for official info, just honest experiences.
