What was your first experience with supershoes?
Hey y'all.
I've ran in various plated shoes for a few years now and really enjoy them. I've got Euegene coming up next weekend and did a test run a week ago with the Hoka Cielo X1 3.0. Loved the feel and fit, felt super fast but I did notice after about 8 miles that my ankles and lower calves were getting more sore than I'd expect. Some of this is because I was running partially on an angled road shoulder but I'm sure it's also partly from using shoes that are less stable than what I'm used to. Debating whether to use them for the marathon or stick with something I'm more comfortable with.
All that to say, what was your first experience running in supershoes? Was it seamless or did you have some muscles that needed to strengthen to use them?
