End of closing day but didnt get the keys - Ranting
Yesterday (24/4 Friday) is the closing day, after a long series of delay from the vendor's new build. I was told by EA on the closing day that vendor is in the process of moving out and "I should get the key before end of day". So I waited....until my solicitor called me at 5:05pm and informed me that the vendor dropped the key with the EA. I would not be able to pick up the key before the EA office and phone line are closed, and I have to wait for Monday?! . I left DM with the EA's facebook and instagram page and so far no response.
Am I right to feel absolutely livid about this? I was told over and over that closing day is when I will get the keys. I have a timeline to move out of my current place and I was planning to use this weekend for deep cleaning ( and we have a damn good weather this weekend). I didn't even get a closing view on the day. This is wasted time and I have to push my plans forward by another week.
I can't help but left fuming through the weekend. What a shitty ending to the long house purchase journey (6 months from sale agreed to closing day)!
