Sometimes I feel so dumb as a reader

I was re reading agot and in the prologue, both will and gared feel like they were being watched, well, they were.

So, in Catelyn I, when she went to see Ned, she feels watched by the weirwood tree, then, on the same POV, she turns her back to the weirwood tree and she has the same feeling again and recall something old nan said.

I feel so dumb because, well, the prologue almost gives you a slap in the face showing the two old rangers feeling something weird going on, feeling watched then in the end, The Others appear. Some shit was happenning and they felt it

In the second POV of the book(Cat I), GRRM again shows a caracter feeling 'disturbed' by the enviroment and also feeling watched. Has to be on purpose, right?

I feel dumb because I never paid attention to this, also, is crazy to me that in the first pages of AGOT, he:

-Shows The Others.

-gives you information about them through Bran thinking about old nan "silly" stories

It feels like he intended the reader to think more as a "child" like bran and to believe most of what old nan is saying, than to be skeptical like Ned(and most caracters)

Also, those of you who read asoiaf in your own language, did you feel the translation kinda off sometimes?

A funny and dark story about goggins in my life

So, a few years ago I was REALLY struggling mentally, I was 21y, completly alone and my mental health was getting worse

During those days, I really dove into goggin mindset, and I would post everyday here seeking for help about my mental health( thank you btw, there are some lovely people here).

Goggins and reaching out to people here made my life less miserable and made me TRY to be alive, made me want to seek an alternative for what eventually I would try to do.

So, long story short, one day I tried suicide and one friend of mine was in a call with me during this, trying to avoid that.

Fast foward a little bit, I survived and when I left the hospital I was playing online with this same friend and I said to him "man, you really need to know david goggins, he's awesome" then my friend said that he already knew about him because during our call that I tried you know what, he said that I literally spent the whole call talking about goggins until I blacked out, this was kinda funny to me, I had no memory of saying anything about him, but anyway, just wanted to share this story

This subreddit has a warm place in my heart.

Also, feel free to correct grammar mistakes if you want, I dont write very well in english, so I appreciate any comments that can help me improve.

Acho bizarro em 2026 ainda tratarem o grunge como gênero musical

Um exercício rápido, pegando duas bandas conhecidas do >>grunge<<< e 3 albuns deles

Nirvana: compare o bleach, o nervermind e o in utero. Tudo "grunge" popularmente.

Alice in chains: facelift, dirt e tripod(album homônimo)
