Last Spring, I pulled up artificial turf (from previous owners) from my nature strip as it was overrun with weeds and I wanted real grass instead.
What I didnt realise was that there was compacted crushed rock about 10cm deep under the fake turf.
Grass and weeds have grown sparsely across the nature strip ever since.
I am looking to hire someone to excavate all of the crushed rock and backfill it with topsoil, so I can plant grass seeds. Is it too late in Autumn to do that now? Should I wait til Winter is over?
Edit: also, what grass seeds would be best? The house is west facing. I am in Melbourne if that makes any difference.
