Thoughts on PSA PA-15 as a first AR?

I’m looking at picking up my first AR and wanted some feedback before buying.

The one I’m considering is the PSA PA-15 16" Mid-Length 5.56 NATO 1:7 Nitride 13.5" Lightweight M-LOK MOE EPT Rifle w/ MBUS Sight Set. My local dealer has it for $619.99.

I’m new to ARs, so I’m mainly looking for something reliable, affordable, and good enough to train with. I’m not trying to build a Gucci rifle right now. I’d rather spend the extra money on ammo, mags, sling, and range time.

For those who have experience with this specific PSA model:

Is this a solid deal for a first AR?

Anything I should inspect before buying?

Any better options under roughly $750?

Open to recommendations or criticism. Just trying to avoid making a dumb first-rifle purchase.

5/4 Test Results

5/4 Test Results

I wasn’t actively checking the website, so I honestly forgot to keep looking, but I just received my TOL by email. I checked the site afterward and saw that I was marked Best Qualified, which honestly surprised me because I thought I didn’t do that well.

Did anyone else test on or around 5/4 and get their results/TOL yet?

Wishing everybody the best of luck!
