So I hit 50kg down today. I know the rate of loss is high, but I assure you it has reduced significantly to around .9kg week the last two months. It was very rapid for a long time because I started from a high weight and then was in hospital and unwell for about a month.

My blood test results are extremely positive. I went from being on the verge of T2D (pre-diabetic) to not showing any markers of it. My fatty liver has healed. Inflammation is way down. Overall I'm probably healthier than I've been for a very long long time. I know I've still got a long way to go and the next 50kg is going to be much harder but I'm here for the long haul for sure.

It's been a mental journey too. Ups and downs. My sleep is terrible. I still don't like who I see in the mirror. And I definitely have a distorted view of myself because 50kg is huge but I struggle to see it. I also ak very paranoid about loose skin. I say this not to be ungrateful, just how my brain works always looking for negatives instead of enjoying the positives for too long.

My mobility is the best improvement though. I couldn't even walk a few metres without extreme back pain and being out of breath just a few months ago. Now, today, I walked for almost two hours just around my neighbourhood. Walked my dog for the first 40 minutes of that but he got tired so I took him home and went for an even longer walk in a different direction. It was lovely.

Here's to the next 50. I'll report back in a year when I've hit that and maybe share some before and after photos then! Good luck everyone
