Completely stuck with this thing…
Completely stuck with my MK2. All new strut mounts, tie rods/ends, lower control arms, ball joints, end links and a new drivers side axle. Got the car aligned, and the alignment guy said the rear beam is bent, which makes sense. This causes the passenger side rear to toe out a bunch.
Car seems to “click” when it goes forward, just one time. Sounds like it’s coming from the front. Same thing going backwards. Car also shoves to left side when accelerating (not hard) and breaking. Did not do this before replacement of parts/alignment. Car also violently shakes at 65-70mph. Feels like it’s coming from the front, but who knows.
I am going to make sure I got the right size axles in the thing. I have a feeling the rear beam being bent + alignment really screwed the car and brought to light the issue.
Anyone got any other opinions? Obviously time to replace the rear beam, however I am dreading that and have an event to go to next week. :(
