Creeps Lurking around
As a moderator, I often check a user’s background to understand where they’re coming from whether they’re here to genuinely engage or just to create conflict. Whenever I have time, I review their activity history. Sometimes, I notice that users are active in NSFW subreddits, which is their personal choice, and there’s no judgment there.
However, the real concern arises when some of these users participate in subreddits where they clearly do not belong especially spaces meant specifically for teens or girls. These communities often have explicit rules stating who the space is intended for. Despite that, I still see individuals, particularly men, commenting on nearly every post in these restricted communities.
If this behavior came from people who were unaware or uneducated about such boundaries, we could assume they simply don’t know better and guide them. these users are educated and fully understand English, meaning they are capable of reading and understanding the rules. So why choose to ignore them?
What’s more frustrating is when they try to justify their actions. I recently confronted someone about this, asking why they were engaging in a girls-only subreddit. Instead of acknowledging the issue, he kept defending his behavior. But the reality is simple you are a man participating in a space that is not meant for you. No amount of argument changes that.
Why is it so difficult for people to respect boundaries and allow others to enjoy their own private spaces?
