Why does the original Crash Team Racing feel so much heavier/harder to control than Nitro-Fueled?

So I went back to the original because I wanted to get some RetroAchievements

And wow i was not expecting this

On CTR NF

I’ve beaten like 12 Oxide time trials recently on so I thought I’d be fine.

Nope.

I can barely survive the FIRST WORLD

I don’t even know what I’m doing wrong but drifting in this game feels completely different. Like

I can’t keep a drift going properly

Boost timing feels super strict

Air-braking feels weird and inconsistent

And Ripper roo

Why The F&,K He destroying me 💀

In Nitro-Fueled I feel in control, but here Crash just feels heavy like A Goddamn Train

I don’t know if it’s just the original physics, or if playing on an emulator is making it worse, but this feels way harder than I expected.

Did anyone else struggle this much going back to the original CTR?

Hey guys, I need some help

I’m currently recreating the PS1 save icons in Dreams, and honestly, they’re turning out really good so far. The only problem I’ve run into is Coco.

I want to properly finish her face, but as you can see from the original icon, part of her is cut off—especially her ponytail. That makes it really hard to recreate her accurately.

If anyone has or can make an expanded version of the image (with her full head, including the ponytail and missing parts), I’d really appreciate it. It would help a lot with finishing the project properly.
