Muscle Twitching

Started Lexapro 3 days ago and now have some on and off muscle twitching, like you might get in your eyelid. Is this a normal thing? Does it end up going away?

Thanks.

Have you ever taken Pristiq? Did it help your anxiety and panic?

My doctor wants me to try it, but my anxiety is giving me all the possible bad situations, as I've had side effects with other meds before.

But I need to hear real facts from real people instead of just anxiety reels of the worst possibilities.

Thanks!

I've been having bad anxiety and some depression for 8 weeks now. I tried Zoloft and it made me really sick. Lexapro was okay for awhile, but ai had issues with that too.

My Dr. wants to put me on Pristiq now. She had me do the Genesight test and it was in my "green" category.

I'm terrified to start taking it, although I know part of that is my anxiety. I've had bad side effects from meds before, so I definitely have some fears. My life has come to a near complete standstill due to my anixety/panic and I know I need something.

Tell me about it please. Help me feel okay about taking it. Please give me some advice.

Has anyone done a Genesight test, and Lexapro was in the red column and you took it anyways?

I have taken Lexapro before and had some side effects, but nothing like when I tried Zoloft (horrible GI symptoms). I came off Lexapro and did well until 2 months ago when I started having really bad panic attacks.

My doctor had me do the Genesight test and it has Lexapro in the red column. I was going to restart it, but now I don't know what to do.

I took the Genesight testing two weeks ago and had not heard anything back. I talked to my psychiatrist this morning, and she said she hadn't recieved anything either (although Genesight told me they HAD made it available to her - not sure if she lied or not.)

Anyways, we had talked about starting me on a low dose of Lexapro - but I got the results directly from Genesight today and it is in the Red column....

Had anyone taken the Genesight test, had Lex in the red AND done okay when taking it?

I took Lexapro a few years ago and tapered off of it. I was doing fine, until about 8 weeks ago when I had a severe panic attack where I went into DPDR. After that I felt like I could not get my physical anxiety symptoms to come down. I'm finally doing about 75 percent better with therapy, but I still have 25 percent of me that is hanging on to this anxiety/panic. Its making it very hard to have a normal life.

I am debating going back on Lexapro for a low dose, 5mg, to help me get over this last hump.

Anyone get off Lex then have to get back on? How did it go?

I'm sorry if this is long. I could really use some advice. Trigger warning about suicidal thoughts.

A few years ago I was put on Lexapro for anxiety. It seemed to help overall, with just the side effects of weight gain and often feeling very tired during the day even though I had slept all night.

I ended up coming off of it because one day I started to feel deeply depressed and suicidal, which were both things I had never felt before. I realized I had forgotten to take the Lexapro for 3 days. I had no other reason to feel like that in my life.

That scared me a lot. I thought, "What if I run out and can't get the med? What if there is ever a shortage?" I didnt want to be dependant on it. I talked to my doctor and he agreed to wean me off of it.

Fast forward to 6 weeks ago and I have the worst panic attack of my life. The anxiety and panic ended up lasting for weeks with multiple ER visits.

With therapy and realizing I was also going through perimenopause, I've been able to get my anxiety down, but it is still a problem and I still feel like I am not living a very good, happy life. I'm currently homebound (which I wasnt 6 weeks ago.)

I saw a psychiatrist and we are waiting on the Genesight test results to make a decision on a med, but she also wants to put me on Viibryd. I'm scared to take any new meds, as I had a horrific reaction to Zoloft.

The psychiatrist said she isn't sure missing the Lexapro for 3 days would have causes such a reaction. She thinks I had underlying depression (never did before though!) and it popped up when the Lexapro wasn't there to cover it.

Would you go back on the Lexapro? Has anyone had a reaction like that?
