We had a really shit relationship until I turned 18, then we became best friends. He really listened to me and respected me. He started overcoming the racism and homophobia from the way he was raised, started opening up to me about his feelings and telling me more stories from his past.. we would just hang out, the two of us talking about life. This lasted for a couple years. He passed 7 years ago today. I just know there's so many things in my heart that only he could hear without judging me. There's so many things he would be proud of me for. I even inherited and worked on the very same car he sunk so much time into while in the very same driveway. I just want to hug him one last time, fuck with him by saying "first time smoking?" when he takes his first puff of the day, tell him about how many loved bands we have in common now.
