I don't know what to do and am near the red. I NEED the refund to survive
I have been unemployed since september of last year and am currently waiting on the tax refund to come to me to survive the next few months. Without it I can't pay my bills next month, I have only managed to get through may thanks to a loan from my brother.
I filed with turbo tax on 4/11 and got both fed. and state (NJ) accepted on the 12th.
My est. date was 5/2 and I still haven't gotten it. On 5/1 I checked the IRS where's my refund and it said there was additional info needed but didn't tell me what and to see if I had a letter. I don't. I've asked twice now for them to send me the notice and my 'online' check of notices sent to me says there isn't anything.
I'm lost and scared I'm going to be screwed over when I am living as close to the needle as I possibly can already. I don't know what to do or how to contact them without getting an automated menu that doesn't help me at all :(
