▲ 50 r/turning
I've been turning for a year and up until recently, used carbide tools. I joined a turning club and learned to use traditional turning tools and a sharpening system. I ordered a sharpening system and low speed grinder. The cheap tools I bought at first suddenly became useful! I started by replacing the 1/2 inch an 5/8 inch bowl gouges with M2 Cryo. Next, I got a 1/2 inch round node scraper. Yesterday my Cryo 1 inch spindle roughing gouge came in. Without the sharpening system, all this would be just frustrating. Now, I'm watching ribbons of wood fly off the piece.
