Passed the 24!
First try, used KM and STC. I think I could have gotten away with just STC, but I started with KM and switched to STC later. Took my series 7 top off 3 years ago and work in admin role far from what any of the test covers... so had to re-learn a few things like order types and underwriting basics.
Spent 8-9 weeks studying, 1-2 hours per day after work then the last 8 days doing at least one full practice exam per day (each took 1-2 hours). I was scoring 70%-79% on STC tests. Got a 70% on the first STC Greenlight, did not have time to do the second one. I think I got through over 80% of the STC material (videos, tests, reading...) and about 65% of the KM material. I did not like that I had to download so many pdfs for KM... mainly the textbook and textbook addendum and eventually gave up on the KM textbook after feeling like some things were missing... could have just been me - but I felt like STC textbook was more "complete" with an abundance of information. I did like the updates that KM sends you the week of your test and I really liked their "Key Concepts" and "Exam Supplements" those were helpful, I read those and the STC "Crunch Time Facts" the day of the exam and bits of all 3 were on the test. The KM program felt way more supportive and encouraging, just a little scattered. STC was more like "Here's everything you need to know, follow these steps and you'll pass." Both programs had stellar customer service teams.
Really enjoyed taking the exams that told you if you were right or wrong right away and gave you an explanation, those helped the most! And I think both programs had this, but there were diagnostic/final exams that told you your strongest chapters and weakest. It saved me so much time since I could then create custom exams of the areas I struggled with the most. Across both programs, I think I answered about 900 practice questions. Actual test did not feel hard compared to the practice exams I took and finished in about two hours. Super happy it all paid off and wanted to share, thanks for reading this rant.
