Lincoln Continental MK3, 1969

Lincoln Continental MK3, 1969

  • This is a 1969 Lincoln Continental Mark III. It's been sitting for an unknown period of time, but I would guess it's been at least 10-20 years since the car was actually on the road. It has a high compression 460 V8, power windows, power seats, auto dimming headlights, a Cartier clock, and a few pounds of mouse nests. The seller was quite confident that all I needed was a battery and the car would be ready to go. That may have been a stretch.

  • I was about to leave on a roadtrip from Minnesota to New York when I was offered an old, non-running, Honda motorcycle for free (thanks Mike), it being located on a slight detour in Iowa. With that, I neglected any preliminary maintenance on my 1973 Mercury Wagon to instead hastily weld a motorcycle carrier on it to pick up my free 1973 Honda XL250 and proceed to embark on a ~3000 mile round trip to the east coast and back.

  • This is a 1966 F100 that I brought home last year. (   • 1966 F100, Hurst Equipped  ,    • 1966 Ford F100, Clean-Up And Repairs.  ). The truck was hot rodded in the 1970's, presumably by a teenager on a tight budget, with a 390 FE swapped in, Toploader 4 speed with hurst shifter, and a 9 inch differential with slapper bars. After getting it running and driving for the first time since 1982, it's time to spruce up the engine and the interior to make the truck a little more drivable and sporty. Things escalated as I ended up having to remove the drivetrain and rebuild the cylinder heads, and the engine almost destroyed itself, but now it's all together and better than ever.

  • This is a 1975 Dually 4x4 F350 Wrecker. It was left abandoned on a property where it was being stored after the original owner passed away. Supposedly it "ran 9 years ago", but it's missing a carburetor, the fuel looks at least 30 years old, and it still has tubed bias ply tires on the rear axle. We'll see if this old wrecker is willing to drive again.
