Error trying to use Forticlient Standalone

Error trying to use Forticlient Standalone

I am trying to experimentally use the new Forticlient Standalone product

https://docs.fortinet.com/document/forticlient/7.4.7/forticlient-standalone-user-guide/725845/introduction

i have activated my 3-user free license of FortiIdentity Cloud and made a user.

I am trying to activate that user with the invitation code, but I get strange errors from the Forticlient App

anyone else try using this yet?

I am sure most people using Fortigate routers are keeping track of this, but it does appear that Fortigate routers are NOT affected by the ban

https://www.fcc.gov/faqs-recent-updates-fcc-covered-list-regarding-routers-produced-foreign-countries

Scroll down to

Is my device a consumer-grade router under the National Security Determination?

Under the column "NO" lists

"Industrial, enterprise, or military equipment"

And I do not think anyone would say Fortigate routers are consumer routers.

Previous post I made about the router ban and fortigates

as most of us are using VPS in a shared environment to host pangolin, what are your thoughts on this issue?

it is possible for someone on the shared server to reach root access, and with that access they may be able to access the files on your VPS.

due to this, for now i was planning to shutdown newt on my home machine to stop the pangolin service on my VPS until i know my provider (hetzner) has patched their systems.
