I have been trying to upscale some clips for social content and keep running into the same issue as most free video upscalers just increase resolution without actually improving the video.

Like it becomes 1080p or 4K but faces still look soft and sometimes the compression becomes even more obvious.

At this point not expecting perfect restoration, just something that can clean things up a bit without making it look artificial.

Has anyone actually found a free setup that improves detail and not just resolution?
