I've been listening to Damocles and the piano bit at the end reminds me of something I've heard before and I can't figure it out. I think it might be from an anime.
Right at the end of Damocles there's a small piano section and it's reminding me of something I've heard before. When I've searched online I see it compared to earlier Sleep Token songs, but this isn't it. I think it sounds like it might match a piano section from a song on an anime soundtrack, possibly by the artist Lia. I think it might be from the anime Angel Beats! or Clannad/Clannad After Story, both of which feature the themes of love, loss and self discovery. I just can't put my finger on it, and whether I'm simply imagining it, or whether I really have heard it somewhere before.
Some of their songs feature inspiration from video games and when I saw them at Download last year, they even played a song from the Halo 2 soundtrack as the intro to Rain, so I could see some songs also being inspired by anime. But am I just imagining it?
