What happened to Gnome Photos
And why did GNOME stop shipping any photo library management software out of the box? Is this no longer considered an essential thing ?

I want to be able to open my Immich library from a third-party photo management app on Linux, navigate through it easily, and eventually modify it as well, using something like Gnome Photos, (edit: ok this is not receiving updates anymore) Shotwell (edit: and this doesn't allow flawless sftp connection) or digiKam.
I recently found the Immich SFTP Server, which seems to make it possible to mount an Immich library over SFTP and then handle it locally as if it were a normal folder. I didn't yet try this, but I am wondering whether this is actually the best available solution for this use case.
