Advice for not hearing back? (DCAIP)

Hello. I’m writing this to hopefully get some help on my current predicament.

I’m a sophomore in aerospace engineering and applied for the DCAIP internship with the DoD/DoW back in October. I got a call and talked over phone and email with someone about a position in February of this year. The last thing we discussed was HR conducting some pre-work and that I should email after a few days if I haven’t heard anything. When I did, he told me that they were still doing some pre-work for my onboarding and he stated that “This opportunity has been fully obligated to you, and the position is secured,” yet it has almost 2 months and I have not heard anything back yet about my onboarding.

I have sent a few emails throughout this time to the person I was in contact with but I have had no luck in hearing anything back. I also emailed DCAIP Program Office a few days ago but have only received an automated message. I have also checked my spam folder but haven’t seen anything.

The internship is supposed to be from May-August, and with May approaching, I’m worried about the position and don’t know what else I can do. Is there any advice from anyone who might’ve been in a similar boat? Should I try to contact anyone or just cut my losses and find a summer job? Thank you for any help.
