why does everything in this city take so long

seriously though. moving here from nyc a couple years ago and i still cant get used to the pace. like i get it, its miami, relax, whatever. but sometimes i need stuff done same day and its impossible

case in point had a client order 30 shirts for some event on saturday. they told me on thursday. classic. so im scrambling trying to find someone who can print transfers fast

most places i called either didnt answer or said 3-4 days minimum.

rant over. just wish more places in miami understood that sometimes people have deadlines lol

anyone else get anxiety about being anxious?

Sounds dumb but here we go. I'll be having a perfectly fine day and then my brain goes "hey you're not anxious right now. something must be wrong." And then bam, I'm anxious about not being anxious.

It's like my brain got so used to the panic that calm feels suspicious. Anyone else deal with this or am I just broken in a special way?

bmw 540i oil leak hit me during atlanta rush hour last week

my 2022 bmw 540i started leaking oil bad while i was stuck in atlanta traffic last week. i had it towed to car repair shop since they handle bmws and other european luxury cars around metro atlanta. they diagnosed the valve cover gasket issue fast replaced it with genuine parts and got the car back to me in two days for way less than the dealer quoted.

the car is running perfect again. any other atlanta folks had bmw oil leak issues lately? what shop did you go to and how did it go?

cheers for any experiences guys

House has been draining us for 8 years. When do you just say enough is enough?

K so this is gonna be long but I need to vent lol.

My brother and I bought a house back in 2018. Sounded like a good idea at the time. Big house, good price, whole family could live together – mom, dad, grandma, siblings. Yeah well that was a mistake.

The previous owners HID so much crap. Seriously. The upstairs bathroom started leaking a few months after we moved in. When we opened the ceiling we found a paper plate and duct tape covering an old leak. A PAPER PLATE. I cant make this up.

Then the roof started falling apart. Then we found mold in three rooms. Then the basement started taking water every time it rained. Then the kitchen ceiling caved in. Its been one thing after another for EIGHT YEARS.

We have spent every last penny just trying to live here. My mom collects money every month and we fix one thing at a time. But the mold wont go away. My sister is pregnant and cant even sleep in her room anymore.

On top of this weve had medical emergencies. Dad diabetes. Mom facial palsy. Grandma broke her ankle. Thousands in medical bills. Thousands more for a caretaker for grandma. I got married two years ago and my husband wants to move out. He keeps asking when are we gonna stop throwing money at this house.

The secret is I dont know. I feel guilty leaving my mom with this mess but I cant help anymore. Im tired. My savings are gone.

Shock to me how a house can ruin a family financially. We thought we were building something and instead we got a money pit.

Anyone here sold a house in bad shape to a cash buyer? How bad was the offer? Was it worth it just to be done? I need a reality check before I lose my mind completely. Thanks for reading lol.

what’s a “normal” thing that secretly makes no sense?

I was thinking about how many everyday things people just accept without ever questioning them. Some stuff is so normal that nobody even notices how weird it actually is

What’s something society treats as completely normal that makes zero sense to you and do you think people would change it if we started over from scratch?

My cat won’t stop screaming at 3 AM and I’m losing it

I honestly think my cat has a secret job as a professional opera singer that only starts after midnight. Every single night around 3 AM, he starts zooming through the hallway and yowling at the top of his lungs. I’ve tried the "ignore it and he’ll stop" method, but he just gets louder and eventually starts batting at my bedroom door like he’s the police. I’m a light sleeper, and between the screaming and the "parkour" sessions, I haven’t had a full night’s sleep in weeks.

He has plenty of food, clean water, and a fresh litter box, so I know he’s not in distress, he just seems bored or desperate for attention. Has anyone actually successfully "fixed" a nocturnal cat? I’ve heard about intense play sessions before bed, but does that actually work, or am I just destined to be a zombie forever? Any advice or solidarity would be greatly appreciated!

What are some of the most common things people believe about diet culture that are actually false or misleading?

I know results posts are hit or miss but I wanted to give an honest one instead of just the highlight reel. What changed: my confidence around people is noticeably different. I used to dread small talk at work, now it just doesn't bother me. Sleep quality got better too, which I wasn't even targeting

What didn't move: the physical stuff I was going for. Face and body stuff, basically nothing I can point to. Could be my belief, could be consistency, could just be how it works for me

I'm not quitting, just being real. Anyone else see results in areas they weren't focused on first?
