Frustrating Interview Loop - SWE
I read a similar experience from another user and also felt I’d share my experience.
My final round was 2 weeks ago. Referred to role, met with recruiter, recruiter said I’d be a better fit for another role and I agreed. First interviews with HM was solid and got scheduled immediately for final round. Asked what I should expect from the upcoming interviews and was told standard 2 coding (LC), design, and behavioral and which interviewers were giving my which type of question. Few days later I was told via email that specifically the design interview was removed from my schedule and I will do 2 coding and the behavioral. The person assigned to give me the design question got moved to a coding question instead. Didn’t bother continuing to study design stuff since it was removed and just focused LC.
Fast forward to interview day that same interviewer had prepped both a LC hard AND a system design question for at 45 min interview. I asked about the coding question but interviewer insisted we do the design first and anytime left over would be for the coding interview. I wasn’t sure how to tackle this in the moment and was pretty blindsided but did my best and didn’t end up getting to the coding question since the interviewer wanted to keep probing the design.
I did end up solving the other coding interview question and the behavioral interview was with the HM again which I felt also went very well.
Overall was given a rejection last week and told no feedback will be provided.
Edit: I do want to work at Anduril but the recruiter seemed to have ghosted me and I’m not sure if I should cold apply or try to get another referral. Looking for some advice, thanks!
