It’s greenhouse time.

You’re all evicted, time to get out of my basement and make something of yourselves.

Best places to buy exotic pepper plants from on the east coast?

I’m almost positive mine aren’t going to survive the things I put them through if they aren’t already nutrient locked. I’d like to prepare for that eventuality.

Does anyone have experience with buying actual plants online or am I better off scouring the local nurseries for the more exotic varieties?

Please help me save my chili plants.

I have 5 chili plants in coco coir, which I’ve found needs to be watered totally differently than soil and someone told me to bring my dilemma to this subreddit for better help.

I’m using HP CC in 1 gallon pots right now, they’re about 6 weeks old at the moment. Mostly chinense variety if that’s pertinent info.

I wasn’t aware coco isn’t supposed to dry out fully between waterings and I think I waited too long because the coco is still damp to the touch for the first inch but the plants are signaling something weird happening, i.e. leaf deformity and curling in both directions on multiple plants.

I watered today with a gallon of nutrient mix between the 5 of them.

1.8 EC, with a pH of 5.8.

This brought the coco itself to 6.5 from 7 but the run off is testing at around 5pH which I know isn’t good for the plants.

How do I fix this issue? And further, how do I water effectively to prevent this issue moving forward?

I have some seedlings that are ready to pot up but this is making me seriously reconsider using coco for them because it’s been such a massive pain in the ass so far.

I have a TDS/EC tester and pH tester, bottles of Grow Big for hydro AND soil, pH Up and pH Down.

Please help, I’ve grown fond of these plants and don’t want to kill them now.

Why doesn’t my coco feel like it needs water after a week or more?

I’m finding I really do not like coco coir as much as people swear by it.

It’s extremely hard for me to tell when to water now. They haven’t gotten lighter at all, and the finger test still feels damp like a wrung out sponge which means it can only be more damp the further down I go.

It’s been almost a week since they’ve gotten water and they look like they need it but the coco coir is still wet and I don’t want to mess my plants up.

Please help. This is extremely confusing and a lot of my leaves are starting to curl downwards and upwards now.

I’m not sure what else they need. They’ve gotten everything. 1 gal pots with HP CC Pro Mix, haven’t been watered since Friday last week where they got 1/4 strength Grow Big diluted in a gallon of water spread between the five, then I soaked the bottom to saturate the coco like what was recommended since apparently you can’t overwater and it doesn’t hold moisture.

edit: I also sincerely apologize if I’m coming off like a whiny bitch, I kind of am right now. lol
