So I went to Lowe’s yesterday and bought about $170 worth of mulch and other items. When we went to the garden register the cashier immediately asked if we have a phone number with them. A little weird bc that has never happened, but ok I gave them my number. As they were processing the order I asked them if my veterans discount had been applied, to which they said “yes, you have $17.xx off”. When we got to the car my wife looked at the receipt and noted that no discount had come off. She went back and the cashier told her there was nothing they could do and we had to go to the service desk. We did and they looked at the receipt and said, “ok, $12.xx goes back on your card”. Ok
This morning I looked at my account and it shows no purchase. I chatted with their AI and it told me the purchase went to another account and I would have to call and speak to someone.
Is this a scam? Possibly placing orders under another account for points?
Thoughts?
