Ambient, electronic, instrumentals. As a former Tumblr teen, SoundCloud listener, and Majestic Casual lurker, underground music made up 80% of my playlists. The only time I was listening to mainstream music was when I was riding the bus home with my friends.

During a time where music wasn’t solely based on trends (although there was a DJ Mustard take over on the radio), we were blessed with risky, experimental sounds. Here are some of my favorite 2010 underground artists -
