Exam period is a tough time for both lecturers and students. Here are some tips I have to ensure your students' performance is optimised:
- Don't give your students answers to the past paper resources! If they learn how to actually answer questions then it makes the subject easier and makes you look bad. Just give them the questions and that's it.
- If your student asks you what they need to know for the exam, gaslight them into thinking everything you need to know is in the tutorials and lectures.
- Make the next exam 200% times harder than the previous one. Students love talking about difficult exams; other lecturers will overhear them and it will big up your reputation.
- Make sure your assignment feedback is computer generated and extremely vague.
- Ghost your students on the discussion forum 1-2 days before the exam.
These are the big five rules I personally stick to, and have had a lot of success.
