Kasaragod - Multi Linguistic Naad

Kasaragod - Multi Linguistic Naad

Just an hour ago or so, there was a post in coconaad about *maanga* *upp thanni*. I know most of you people dont know what maanga upp thanni is, so under that I was explaining few things to my friend in my kasaragod malayalam. I have seen people asking *idhedh baasha?*

I know our malayalam is a bit different, because it consist of 7 different languages. So if we think technically, aren't kasaragodians gems 💎?!

Because they can speak different dialects of the same language without any problem. They can switch from one dialect to another anytime they want. Also if you are from the border places in kasaragod like manjeshwaram, you have the benefit to learn and talk Tulu, Beary, Naknik, Kannada also. Isn't that great? I mean being in Kerala itself you have access to so many languages that you can call yourself a mulitlingual person. Does any other district in Kerala have this benefit? I guess nah!! But still we are avaganikapetta jilla🥺. I guess korach ariv koodi poyath is a curse😭.

Whenever in a movie our Kasaragod dialect is used it feels refreshing and gives a different level of pride in us(Hitachi's puthanpanam was a bad example, that's not out dialect). A great example was in Romancham. Do you guys had experience talking to any Kasaragod people who have been from the border areas and not towns? because kasaragod slang changes in each 5-8 kilometres. It's a dynamic place to be in. If you start your journey from payyannur and end at the border of talappady, you would be amazed to see that you have gone through multiple dialect speaking culture within the same district itself.

Feel free to ask me anything 👇 in your malayalam, and i or any other fellow kasrodian will try to change that into *Kasaragod* malayalam
