Howdy everyone I just bought a 2005 ss with the 5 speed manual. Gears 1-4 work fine and no grinding or other issues, 5th gear goes in just fine again no grinding but if there's any acceleration ie letting the clutch out or going from downhill to uphill it pops out into neutral. It can be held in place and otherwise functions regularly, no grinding no wackiness only popping out.
I've looked online and found the issues could be: roll pin, cable adjustment, transmission fluid, or some bolt that holds the 5th gear in place is out or something. I have seen people with the same issue but not a definitive answer. So my question is this, if you have had this issue and you fixed it what was your cause?
Just looking for a place to start the diagnostics and borrow some experience.
