How do you jump on old games?

On old games, there's no jump tolerance. So, if you hit up before you hit the diagonal, you get a neutral jump. What I do is, I tap forward or back before I jump. Are any of you confident enough on your diagonals to go straight for it?

Super Scientific™ Friction Test → [OTTO DIY V5] vs [Standard Sanwa JLF] | 2.0

Hey! For what it's worth:

I made a post here the other day saying I couldn't feel much difference between the levers on my two otherwise identical controllers. What I forgot to account for was that I was using a steel pivot instead of the default Teflon one. Whilst browsing related posts, I came across u/Slight_Cry8071's reply [https://www.reddit.com/r/fightsticks/comments/18fjqqg/comment/ohfnnlt/?context=1] where they mentioned that Teflon on Teflon is the third least-friction surface contact.

So, I swapped it out and felt a difference. Or at least, I thought I did. I tested both my Pantheras again and, whilst I can feel a slight difference, I can't say for certain whether it's down to the pivot or the springs, which may be in slightly different stages of wear
