Azoth is an interesting thing. It's meant to connect the first and last letters of the alphabet In this image, used in the cover if I know, it's being associated with Mercury.
In Hollis' cosmology, Hermes (aka mercury) is associated with Metatron. Anyway, Hermes Trismegistus is the mythical author of the emerald tablet, which is the origin of the phrase "as above so below" which really is kind of from plato. Also notice the dragon (or is it a wyvern?) in the furnace. Dragon saga, iykyk.
